Bet Art Midrash
Sunday February 9, 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM (Tu Bishvat edition)
Collegiate Campus, Nursery Classroom
Rav Sara Zacharia's Art Beit Midrash is back, at the intersection of text study and creative expression, exploring the deeper themes of upcoming holidays. Materials will be supplied and snacks will be served. Suggested sliding scale donation of $10-$20 per person, per session. Registration required here! (Each session will be confirmed when we have a minimum of 6 registrations.) Cosponsored by the Fort Tryon Jewish Center and the Y of Washington Heights & Inwood. Please reach out to Rav Sara, rabbisarazacharia@gmail.com, with any questions.
Tu Bishvat Learning from the Zohar, with Rabbi Guy
Wednesday February 12, 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
North Room
"When Rabbi Abba saw a tree whose fruit turned into a bird and flew away, he wept and said: If men only knew to what these things alluded, they would rend their garments down to their navels because this wisdom is now forgotten." We'll see what we can recover through an in-depth discussion of what comes next in this passage from the Zohar -- no experience with the Zohar necessary! This will not be a Tu Bishvat Seder, but rather an extended exploration of mystical ideas with study, song, and sacred snacks. Registration is appreciated but not required here.
