ASL Interpretation
FTJC is committed to providing American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for services, when requested in advance, whether by visitors or by members expecting guests in need of interpretation.
To request ASL interpretation for a particular date, please notify us by e-mailing info@ftjc.org as early as possible before the date on which you or your guest plan to attend. (For example, if you are visiting for Shabbat, we would need to start hiring an interpreter before the preceding Shabbat -- ideally two weeks' notice, but in any case not less than 10 days.) When requesting ASL interpretation, please let us know what parts of the service you would want translated (e.g., prayer liturgy, Torah reading, sermon, announcements, or all of the above), or any other types of accommodations that would enable you or your guest to participate as preferred.
Donations Welcome: FTJC provides this service free of charge to any guest. We are grateful to the Jewish Deaf Resource Center which subsidizes the fee for interpreters. We also invite our hearing members to make a contribution to the fund. To inquire about donating please e-mail info@ftjc.org or donate directly here.
