Mishloach Manot
Mishloach Manot 5781
FTJC has set up an easy way for you to send Mishloach Manot — gifts of food and drink that are sent to family and friends — while supporting your synagogue at the same time.
Here is how it works:
- The deadline to sponsor Mishloach Manot is Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 11:59 PM.
- Each FTJC member household who wishes to can pick up or receive delivery of one package, whether you cosponsored or not!
- The package will include a card listing the names of the sponsors.
- Each package will contain a variety of foods including hamentaschen (all packages will be peanut and nut free!).
- All packages will be assembled in a socially distanced manner, by someone who is wearing a mask and gloves. Feel free to email programming@ftjc.org with any questions!
- Mishloach Manot packages will be available for pickup or delivery on Thursday 2/25, more details to follow. Please e-mail programming@ftjc.org for more info!
PURIM HALACHAH (not "Purim Torah" - this is for real!)
Please note that the halachah of Mishloach Manot is to send and receive these gifts from one particular person or household to another, and during the daytime. So in addition to participating in our shul’s communal gifting, you may want to be sure that you or your family also send a gift, of at least two kinds of food to at least one person, during Purim day (Friday, February 26) — this can be a fun and more personalized way of fulfilling the mitzvah!
