Mishloach Manot
Mishloach Manot 5784-2024
FTJC has set up an easy way for you to send Mishloach Manot — gifts of food and drink that are sent to family and friends — while supporting your synagogue at the same time.
Here is how it works:
- The deadline to sponsor Mishloach Manot is Sunday March 17 at 11:59 PM.
- Each package will contain a variety of foods including hamentaschen (all packages will be peanut and nut free!).
- Thanks to our generous sponsors, every member household will be able to receive a package on Purim, regardless of whether they chose to donate.
- Mishloach Manot packages will be available for pickup at Purim celebrations at the Fort Washington Collegiate Campus on Saturday March 23 and Sunday March 24.
PURIM HALACHAH (not "Purim Torah" - this is for real!)
Please note that the halachah of Mishloach Manot is to send and receive these gifts from one particular person or household to another, and during the daytime. So in addition to participating in our shul’s communal gifting, you may want to be sure that you or your family also send a gift, of at least two kinds of food to at least one person, during Purim day (Sunday March 24) — this can be a fun and more personalized way of fulfilling the mitzvah!
