Learn a shtickel torah, make a shtickel art! Join Amalya for a 3 part art class to prep for Rosh Hashanah. At each session we will learn an excerpt from the holiday's Torah Reading and do a guided art activity. Making text-based art can help us to internalize the text and generate fresh interpretations. Especially invited: people who are "not artists" and "can't draw", experienced artists, and everyone in between. Excited to make art with you!

Pre-requisite skills: fluency in writing your name, ability to rip paper

Registration Required by 8/21.

Art making process includes drawing with pencil and ripping/gluing paper. You will need construction paper, a pencil & eraser, and a gluestick. If you do not have access to these materials, there is an option on the registration form to request some. If you are out of the city and need supplies but finances are a barrier, or you have an accessibility-related accommodation, please email Sarah Resnick at programming@ftjc.org.
