Makom Kadosh - Holy Space
Makom Kadosh - Holy Space
The Synagogue
While our building is under renovation, we meet in the Social Hall at Hebrew Tabernacle. Our kehila (congregation) has made great efforts to make this space our makom kadosh¸ or holy space. Please sit anywhere you feel comfortable. Our reader’s table is located towards the center of the seating, and the Aron HaKodesh, Holy Ark containing the Torah Scrolls is in the front of all of the seating. The curtain covering the ark in our shul has been made by some of our members giving it a further special place in our congregation. Above the Aron is the Ner Tamid, Eternal Light, that reminds us of the menorah in the ancient Temple in Jerusalem and symbolizing God’s constant presence among us in our community and in our lives.
